Travelocity Go and Smell the Roses: New TV Commercials

Go and Smell the Roses.  It’s more than Travelocity’s new tagline and TV campaign. It’s our way of life.  We believe that the world is a magical place, and that adventures await in your own backyard.  In a nearby city.  Or an exotic, far-away place.  So don’t stop.  Go.  Smell the roses.  Taste the flavors.  See the world…and never look back.

No one embodies the ‘Go and Smell the Roses’ spirit more than our very own Travelocity Roaming Gnome.  In his brand new Travelocity TV campaign, the Roaming Gnome leaves the mundane behind to experience the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain, the joyful Holi Festival in India and other amazing travel destinations.

Travelocity’s annual “Traveler Confidence Report” reveals a majority of consumers, 53 percent, plan to travel more in 2012 than they did in 2011 despite a lack of confidence in the state of the economy.  This is an 18 percentage point year-over-year increase from 2011.  Of those respondents who planned on increasing their travel this year, about two-thirds plan to increase their travel budget in 2012, while slightly more than one-third will travel

Farewell and Happy Travels

Dear faithful readers of The Window Seat,

My time at Travelocity, and therefore The Window Seat, has come to an end. While I’m excited for the opportunities that lie ahead, I’m sad to go. The last four-plus years have been some of the happiest of my life. Travelocity is an outstanding place to work.

Over the next few months, you may see some changes on the blog. There will more guest writers and perhaps more from our dear friend the Roaming Gnome. You may see more company news and perhaps you’ll read more from our resident destination experts, the Travelocity market managers. Soon my replacement will be named and I know he or she will have some big ideas to make The Window Seat better than it’s ever been.

Thanks for reading all these years. It has been a trip!

Happy Travels,
